Starting today, the Alien Hunter tool on Proksee is limited to analyzing a single sequence between 20,000 bp and 1,000,000 bp in length. This change is due to ongoing performance and stability issues that have affected its reliability. If these issues persist, the tool may be discontinued entirely. However, if performance improves, we may consider increasing the maximum sequence size in the future.

For analyzing longer genomes or multiple contigs, we recommend alternative tools in the Mobile Genetic Elements category, such as VirSorter and Phigaro. Additionally, we will soon be adding PHASTEST, a popular tool for identifying prophage regions.
